TESH. >> WHEREAS OCTOBER 1ST, 2021, IS MANUFACTURING DAY THE KICKOFF OF MANUFACTURING MONTH TO INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION OF MANUFACTURERS AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AT LARGE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ROLE MANUFACTURERS PLAY IN OUR DAILY LIVES AND THE GROWING SKILL SHORTAGE DESPITE THE HIGH VOLUME OF JOB OPENINGS IN THIS SECTOR. AMONG OTHER ENTITIES HAVE ESTABLISHED THE READY TO WORK BOOT CAMP TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THESE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES TO OBTAIN THEM. DO HEAR BY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AS MANUFACTURING AWARENESS MONTH IN THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE AND URGE ALL CITIZENS TO JOIN IN RECOGNIZING THE VALUE OF OUR MANUFACTURERS AND THE IMPORTANCE THEY SERVE LOCALLY, NATIONALLY AND OUR GLOBAL ECONOMY. YOU MAY BE AWARE THAT 60% OF YOUR RESIDENTS USE TRANSIT SERVICES. THERE HAS BEEN MANY ADVANCEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH TRANSIT SO I'M PROUD TO PROUD TO BRING UP BILL. I WILL GET THROUGH THE VERY QUICKLY WE HAVE THE TEAM HERE WHO IS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE MUNICIPAL SERVICES TAXES UNIT. WE TRY NOT TO USE ACRONYMS AS MUCH AS THE T.P.O. DOES. IT WAS A CHALLENGE AT THAT TIME. REALLY SHORTAGE OF FUNDED FOR TRANSIT. A LOT OF CHANGES IN THE COUNTY. IN THE ENWE CAME UP WITH SOME BASIC THINGS. THE IDEA THAT OF COURSE WE WOULD LIKE IT TO GROW OVER TIME.

AND AND NOT BE FLAT THAT. THE CITY SHOULD PARTICIPATE.

THEY'RE BIG USERS OF THE TRANSIT SERVICE THEY SHOULD BE INVOLVED. WHAT THE RESULT OF WHICH WAS MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT.

THAT'S THE CONCLUSION THAT THE GROUP OF ELECTED OFFICIALS CAME TO AT THAT WORKSHOP.

SO WHAT WE WANTED TO DO TODAY WAS TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE HISTORY WHERE WE'VE COME TO TODAY WHAT DO WE NEED TO SUSTAIN IT AND KEEP THIS MOVING FORWARD IN THE FUTURE. WHEN IT STARTED IT WAS A TENTH OF A MILL. I'LL TELL YOU IN A MOMENT WHAT THAT MEANS IN TERMS OF DOLLARS.

THEN THERE'S THAT DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABLES OLDING ADULTS THAT AVAILABLE -- WE'LL TALK ABOUT HOW COVID IMPACTED THAT.

AND THEN, OF COURSE THERE'S CONNECTIONS TO THE NORTH IN INDIAN RIVER AND TO THE SOUTH IN MARTIN TO THEIR RESPECTIVE TRANSIT SYSTEMS AS WELL.

SO THEY'RE STILL RECOVERING FROM THAT THEN A BIG ARE DROP YOU SEE THAT WE'VE SEEN THAT LITTLE CYCLE OF UP AND DOWN THERE WAS SOME SERVICE THAT HAD TO BE CUT DURING COVID-19 I'LL MENTION THE DOOR-TO-DOOR TRIPS AGAIN.

GETTING PEOPLE TO JOBS. THIS IS AND I WILL HIGHLIGHT THAT THIS IS A VIDEO BEFORE COVID BECAUSE NOBODY IS WEARING A MASK IN THIS VIDEO.

BUT, AS YOU SEE THIS BUS DRIVING DOWN THE U.S. 1 CORRIDOR YOU CAN SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GETTING ON AND OFF THE BUS. IT REALLY IS A GOOD INDICATION OF HOW MUCH IT'S BEING USED HOW EFFECTIVE IT IS ESPECIALLY ON THAT U.S. 1 CORRIDOR SPINE.

MANY TIMES IT'S AT STANDING ROOM ONLY.

AGAIN THIS IS BEFORE COVID SO WE'RE WORKING NOW TO GET SERVICES BACK UP TO WHERE THEY AND WERE GET RIDISHSHIP BACK ON TRACK AS WELL. -- RIDERSHIP BACK ON TRACK

THIS IS AN EFFORT THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW.

IF WE HAD ALL THE RESOURCES IN THE WORLD WE COULD PROVIDE SERVICE TO ALL AREAS, WE COULD PROVIDE THE MOST HIGHLY UTILIZED SERVICE IN THE AREAS THAT NEED IT MOST EVEN MORE. UNFORTUNATELY WE DON'T HAVE ALL THOSE RESOURCES SO WE HAVE TO BALANCE THE CHOICE BETWEEN COVERING MORE AREA OR PROVIDING HIGHER LEVELS OF SERVICE AND INCREASING RIDERSHIP ON THE CORE CORRIDORS. SO THAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW TO MAKE SURE WE OPTIMIZE AND CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ALONG THIS SPECTRUM OF OPTIONS OF BALANCING THAT TO MAKE SURE WE GET THE BIGGEST RETURN ON THE INVESTMENT.

AND THIS IS JUST A SUMMARY OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH.

SO WHERE WE ARE NOW IS WE'RE LOOKING TO GET THE CITIES TO APPROVE A RENEWAL OF THE AGREEMENT THE IT EXPIRES IN 2023. BUT THE COUNTY IS STARTING VERY EARLY TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S NO LAPSE IN THOSE INNER LOCAL AGREEMENTS.
