OUR FISCAL YEAR 2023 BUDGET IS BALANCED AT $9 ,271,702.

IT IS AN INCREASE OF ONE MILLION 639, 997.

ALL RIGHT, THED A VALOREM TAXES THAT MAINLY MAKES UP THIS BUDGET IS 9 ,054,000, 2 AND THAT IS A. 1 ,200,INCREASE FROM LAST FISCAL YEAR. IN THE EXPENDITURE OR EXPENSES FOR FPRA THERE IS ONE NEW POSITION BEING ADDED AND AS WE EXPLAINED PRIOR, THAT POSITION IS HOUSED IN THE GENERAL FUNDS AND WILL BE AN STRAITIVE TRANSFER TO COVER THAT POSITION.

WE CONTINUE TO ALLOCATE THE $350,000 FOR THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS. THERE IS $450,000 THAT IS ALLOCATED FOR TRANSFER FOR THE OPERATION COSTS AT THE SUNRISE THEATER. AND THIS YEAR IN IS A $600,000 TRANSFER TO THE GENERAL FUNDS AND THE BALANCE AFTER THIS TRANSFER IS $6 ,, 440,000 227. AND THAT IS OUR BRIEF OVERVIEW

>> YES, MA'AM, MADAM CHAIR, AS WE CONTINUE TO WORK TOWARD BUILDING A REVITALIZED DOWNTOWN AND JUST REVITALIZE FPRA IN GENERAL, ONE OF THE MAJOR WANTS AND DESIGNS OF THE -- DESIRES OF THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IS INCREASE POLICE PRESENCE AND A FEELING OF SAFETY AND SECURITY. NOW, I HEARD DOWNTOWN IS 1 OF THE MOST VIBRANT PLACES ON THE TREASURE COAST, ESPECIALLY ON THE WEEKEND, BUT WHAT I DO SEE IS WE HAVE A PLETHORA OF BARS AND RESTAURANTS THAT ARE OPENED. THERE IS A LOT OF ACTIVITY AND A LOT OF THINS GOING ON AND THEN ON SATURDAY MORNINGS WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE COMING IN FROM OTHER COMMUNITIES TO OUR CITY, AS WELL AS ON SUNDAY I THINK THERE A QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WHO COME DOWN TO FORT PIERCE TO ENJOY A NICE BRUNCH.

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO DO IS HAVE TO TWO DEDICATED POLICE OFFICERS EVERY WEEKEND ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, FRIDAY, A TOTAL OF EIGHT HOURS, SATURDAY A TOTAL OF 18 HOURS AND ON ALSO ON SUNDAY DURING THE MORNING. FOR A TOTAL OF 30 HOURS PER WEEK THAT WOULD HAVE A DETAIL THAT WOULD BE FUNDED BY THE FPRA.

INCREASED POLICE PRINCE HAS BEEN ASKED OF THE CITY FOR SEVERAL YEARS BY THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ALLIANCE.

AND THIS IS IS A METHODOLOGY THAT CAN'T BE FUNDED BY THE FPRA TO GET US TO THAT POINT. WHEN THERE IS GREAT ACTIVITY, GREAT VISITATION AND GREAT PRESENCE, WE CAN HAVE THE POLICE THERE THAT WILL BE DEDICATEED AND WILL NOT BE PULLED OFF FROM THEIR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AND DUTIES IF THERE IS ANOTHER EMERGENCY AT ANOTHER PART OF TOWN.

THEY WILL BE DEDICATED TO THAT AREA AND I THINK THAT WILL DEFINITELY GO A LONG WAY WITH THE BUSINESS AND THE VISITORS TO OUR DOWNTOWN AREA. SO THAT IS WHAT WE'RE ASKING OF YOU. TO AUTHORIZE THE FPRA STAFF TO EXPENSE A TOTAL OF $156,000 ANNUALLY FOR THIS PURPOSE.

AND I BELIEVE THEY WE CAN DO THE SAME THING.

T IS A SMALL CONTINGENTSH ONLY TWO PEOPLE AND THEY'RE GOING TO
