THE UAC IS ONE OF THE NEWER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS THAT WAS PUT IN PLACE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO , AND IT HAS BEEN EVOLVING OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, AND SO , WITH THIS PRESENTATION , WE WILL NOT ONLY PROVIDE THE UPDATED WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025, BUT WE WILL ALSO GIVE YOU VERY BRIEF SNAPSHOTS OF THE SUCCESSES OF FISCAL YEAR 2024, SO YOU WILL BE GETTING A LITTLE BIT OF BOTH . SO, WHEN THE FPUA BOARD DID THE STRATEGIC PLAN , WHAT WE DID IS WE TOOK YOUR STRATEGIC PLAN THAT YOU ADOPTED, AND WE LOOKED AT IT AND RESET WHAT CAN THE UAC DO TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE FPUA BOARD , AND THAT IS THE GOAL OF THE ANNUAL WORK PLAN THAT WE ADOPT , AND WE TRY TO ALIGN ALL OF OUR ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO DO STRATEGICALLY WITH THE FPUA STRATEGIC PLAN . SO, ONE OF THEM IS COMMUNITY RELATIONS, AND WE HAVE TWO OBJECTIVES IN THE WORK PLAN TO HAVE THE UAC SERVICE EDUCATED FPUA BRAND AMBASSADORS WHO FACILITATE CONNECTION BETWEEN FPUA AND ITS CUSTOMERS. THE WAY WE SOMETIMES TALK ABOUT IT WHEN WE ARE IN COMMITTEE IS THEY ARE THE CONDUIT . THEY ARE THE PIPELINE THAT GOES BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN FPUA STAFF AND THEIR NEIGHBORS, THEIR FRIENDS, THEIR COLLEAGUES, AND IT IS AN INVALUABLE ROLE THAT THEY PLAY. AND TO SERVE AS COMMUNITY LIAISONS BETWEEN LOCAL SCHOOLS AND LOCAL YOUTH-ORIENTED ORGANIZATIONS TO FACILITATE THOSE CONNECTIONS. FAMILY HAD, THESE ARE OUR ACTIVITIES FOR THIS ADOPTED WORKPLAN , AND THE NEW ONES ARE TO COLLABORATIVELY DEVELOP A WEBPAGE ON FPUA.COM THAT TALKS ABOUT THE WORK OF THE COMMITTEE , AND THEN TO FACILITATE AT LEAST ONE OPPORTUNITY FOR EDUCATION PARTNERS TO HOST FPUA OUTREACH ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS INVITATIONS TO SPEAK AT YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS , A TABLE AT SPECIAL EVENTS, OR OTHERWISE PARTICIPATE IN MEETINGS FOR YOUTH OUTREACH SPECIFICALLY . IN DECEMBER , WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE W RF UPDATE AND ALSO WASTEWATER PRIMER , HOW IT WORKS. SO IF THERE IS ANYBODY WHO IS WATCHING THIS ONLINE RIGHT NOW OR ON THEIR TV , AND THEY WANT TO UNDERSTAND A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON THERE , THAT MEETING IS A GREAT ONE TO COME TO. ALL OF OUR MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND WE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO ATTEND. IN JANUARY WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT REBATES AND HOW IT HELPS TO LOWER THE COST OF EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT. PART OF SERVING AS BRAND AMBASSADORS AS BEING EDUCATED ON THE MANY DIFFERENT THINGS THAT FPUA DOESN'T ALL OF THE DIFFERENT SERVICES WE OFFER AND HOW WE OPERATE BEHIND THE SCENES . SO SOME OF THE TOPICS THAT WE COVERED WERE THE SEPTIC DISORDER PROGRAM, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS SO HEAVILY GRANT FUNDED , THE WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM AND THE UPDATES TO THAT, HOW WE ARE NOW DOING THE INSULATION IN THE CEILINGS, SUNSHINE LAW , TRAININGS, FPUA NET COMMUNICATIONS CAME OUT AND PRESENTED, WE DID THE WRF RELOCATION, AND THE COMBINED UTILITY BILL , WHICH WAS LED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE UAC ALSO FACILITATED FPUA'S PURCHAS PATIENT AT TWO PROGRAMS. WE WERE INVITED TO PRESENT AT HIGH POINT COMMUNITY. THERE WERE 21 COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE AND THAT WAS A JOINT PRESENTATION WITH THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS TEAM FOR A GENERAL ABOUT FPUA AND FPUA NET, BECAUSE HIGH POINT IS INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT FIBER INTERNET FOR THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD. THE UAC ALSO INVITED US TO ATTEND THIS BETTER TOGETHER COMMUNITY JOB FAIR , WHICH WAS HOSTED AT THE METHODIST CHURCH ON OCEAN AVENUE , AND THAT WAS ACTUALLY A HIGHLY ADVERTISED AND HIGHLY ATTENDED POSITIVE PROGRAM FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT WE WERE NOT REGISTERED FOR UNTIL ONE OF THE UAC MEMBERS MENTIONED IT TO US, AND THERE WERE ABOUT 375 FOLKS IN ATTENDANCE , AND WE ARE ALREADY REGISTERED TO GO TO THE NEXT ONE, WHICH WILL BE IN DECEMBER. THAT IS A RELATIONSHIP NOW THAT WE ARE CULTIVATING UPON THE INVITATION OF ONE OF THE UAC MEMBERS. OUR UAC MEMBERS ALSO ATTENDED DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY , AS UAC MEMBERS .
MS. CHRISTIE KING ATTENDS COFFEE WITH THE MAYOR ALMOST EVERY MONTH. WE ALSO HAVE MEMBERS JOIN THE BOARD MEETINGS. WE HAD A COUPLE OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS ATTEND OUR BUDGET WORKSHOPS. I THINK IT WAS FOUR HOURS, AND THEY WERE THERE THE WHOLE TIME. ALSO ATTENDING SOME OF OUR ACTIVITIES THAT EITHER WE SPONSOR OR VOLUNTEER AT , AND PARTICIPATING ALONGSIDE OUR STAFF, SUCH AS NATUREFEST AND

OUR OBJECTIVES THAT WE HAVE ADOPTED WITH THE COMMITTEE ARE TO ENSURE THAT FPUA IS EQUIPPED WITH CITIZEN INPUT TO SUPPORT THE UTILITY'S CONTINUED EFFORTS TO MAINTAIN ECONOMICAL RATES AND RELIABLE SERVICES , AND TO DEMONSTRATE FULL SUPPORT , AND ALSO FACILITATE PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR COMPLETION OF THE RELOCATION EFFORT OF THE WRF . OUR ACTIVITIES FOR CITIZEN INPUT INCLUDE MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS TO STAFF PRESENTERS WHEN THEY COME AND PRESENT, SO THAT MUST'E TOPICS THAT I PROVIDED EARLIER ABOUT WHAT WE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT , THE INTENT OF THAT IS TO NOT ONLY EDUCATE, BUT TO HEAR BACK FROM THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS THEIR FEEDBACK, IS THERE SOMETHING THAT THEY ARE SEEING THERE THAT MAY BE WE CAN LEARN FROM, REACH OUT BETTER ABOUT, WHATEVER . OUR OBJECT IS TO PRIORITIZE THE INVOLVEMENT OF LOCAL STUDENT CANDIDATES BY SERVING AS COMMUNITY LIAISONS WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS. LET ME JUST GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF INFORMATION THERE . ONE OF THE THINGS THAT OUR COMMITTEE HAS REALLY FOCUSED ON HIS WANTING TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR LOCAL STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THAT THE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AFFORDED BY FPUA ARE REALLY IMPRESSIVE . FPUA IS ONE OF THE BEST EMPLOYERS IN OUR REGION , AND A LOT OF OUR KIDS I THINK DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THE OPPORTUNITIES ARE, SO THE COMMITTEE HAS REALLY FOCUSED ON MAKING THOSE CONNECTIONS. SO, ACTIVITIES INCLUDED DEDICATING AT LEAST ONE UAC MEETING TO THE TOPIC OF FPUA APPRENTICESHIP AND INTERNSHIP, AND TO REMAIN INFORMED ABOUT FPUA CAREER OPPORTUNITIES MY INTERNSHIPS, AND APPRENTICESHIPS, SO OUR MEMBERS CAN FACILITATE THOSE CONVERSATIONS WITH NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS, FAMILY, COLLEAGUES, ET CETERA. AND HOPEFULLY, YOU ALL KNOW AND REMEMBER THE FIRST ANNUAL YOUTH CAREER EVENT THAT WAS HOSTED AT THE ENERGY SERVICES CENTER. WE HAD OVER 100 FOR ATTENDEES TO THIS INAUGURAL CAREER EVENT . WE WERE ALSO INDICTED -- INVITED BY WPBF. IT WAS MYSELF AND PEARL, ONE OF THE UTILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS. WE DROVE DOWN TO DO A LIVE NEWS ANCHOR INTERVIEW ABOUT THE PROGRAM. WE HAD A LOT OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, BUT NOT ONLY WAS IT THE ATTENDANCE OF THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS, BUT THE FEEDBACK THAT WE RECEIVED FROM OUR OWN TEAM. THIS EVENT AFFORDED OUR OWN TEAM MEMBERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME TOGETHER AND STAND SIDE-BY-SIDE REPRESENTING AS FPUA, TALKING TO EACH OTHER. WE DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, BUT MANY OF OUR STAFF MEMBERS ARE IN BUILDINGS ACROSS THE CITY AND MAY OR MAY NOT SEE EACH OTHER VERY OFTEN AT ALL, OR EVEN NECESSARILY EVER.
SOMETIMES THEY WILL TALK ON THE PHONE , BUT WON'T NECESSARILY EVER TALK FACE-TO-FACE . SO IT WAS A VERY COOL OPPORTUNITY TO FACILITATE , NOT ONLY THE OUTSIDE , YOUTH CAREER SHARING, BUT ALSO THE INSIDE, AND THAT WAS THINKS TO THE UAC THAT REALLY WANTED TO HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS. IT WAS VERY COOL.

THE GAS MAIN AND CONTINUES SOUTH FROM INJURY A ROAD IN NORTH U.S. HIGHWAY 1 TO CONNECT INTO FPUA'S EXISTING GAS SYSTEM ON NORTH 25TH STREET THE TOTAL MILEAGE OF ALL GAS PIPELINE IS APPROXIMATELY 13.5 MILES. AS PART OF THE PROJECT, A NEW GAS GATE STATION WILL NEED TO BE INSTALLED AT THE I-95 AND INJURY OF ROAD INTERSECTION. HE DID NOT WORK WITH THE PROPOSED SITE FOR THE STATION AND STAFF NEEDED TO DETERMINE ANOTHER TRACT OF LAND FOR THE NORTH GAS GATE STATION. FPUA STAFF HAS RESEARCH AND FOUND A ONE ACRE TRACT OF LAND WHICH SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS PROPOSED SITE INCLUDES TWO GAS TRANSMISSION SITE KNOWN BY A GT PICKET IS DIRECTLY SOUTH OF THE PREVIOUSLY PROPOSED 0.5 ACRE SITE. THIS TABLE SHOWS THE HISTORICAL QUARTERLY OVER AND UNDER COLLECTION OF POWER COSTS AND THE CUMULATIVE BALANCES IN THE RATE STABILIZATION FUND . THE AVERAGE COST FOR PURCHASED POWER IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER WAS $65.42, WHICH RESULTED IN AN OVER COLLECTION OF JUST AROUND $591,000 . THAT BROUGHT THE FISCAL YEAR-END BALANCE OF OUR STABILIZATION FUND TO $10.9 MILLION. THE TARGETED BALANCE OF OUR RATE STABILIZATION FUND IS CURRENTLY RECOGNIZED TO BE $10 MILLION.
