MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS THAT IS YOUTH COUNCIL UPDATE ON THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE 2026 FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES YOUTH LEGISLATIVE ACTION DAZE AND UPCOMING PROJECTS.

WE HAVE THREE OF OUR YOUTH COUNCIL MEMBERS, WHO ARE ATTENDED THE YOUTH LEGISLATIVE DAYS TALLAHASSEE A STATEWIDE YOUTH COUNCIL COME TOGETHER TO LEARN HOW OGOVERNMENT WORKS AND THEY MEET LEADERS AND PRACTICE ADVOCATING ISSUES AND PRACTICE WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM. THERE WERE MORE THAN 100 YOUTH FROM OTHER CITIES THAT PARTICIPATED AND FIRST UP WE HAVE MR. TIMOTHY NIXON. EACH ONE OF THEM WILL INTRODUCE THEMSELVES AND TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT

AND THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE WHOLE TRIP HAVE BEEN THE PART WHERE WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE AND WORK WITH THE OTHER COUNCILS, AND TALK ABOUT OUR GOALS, AND WHAT WE SHOULD DO IN THE FUTURE. WE WERE ABLE TO SPEAK WITH PEOPLE THAT WE HAD NO IDEA THEIR BACKGROUND, OR ANYTHING ABOUT THEM, AND WE WERE ABLE TO RELATE, AND SPEAK ON DIFFERENT THINGS, AND DIFFERENT IDEAS AND BOUNCE IDEAS OFF OF EACH OTHER. ALSO, SHARING IDEAS, AND ESPECIALLY AT THIS STAGE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AT THIS AGE, YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY, LIKE, REMIND YOURSELF THIS ISN'T A COMPETITION, AND YES, ARE GIVING IDEAS AND GETTING IDEAS AND WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE THE WORLD, AND YOUR OWN CITY, AND HOPEFULLY, HELPING EACH OTHER BETTER OUR OWN RESPECTIVE CITIES. WE'RE INCLUDING A SCREENED ELECTRICAL YARD AND EMERGENCY GENERATOR, AND WE'RE ALSO PROPOSING THE RELOCATION OF AN EXISTING WATER LINE THAT CURRENTLY RUNS UNDERNEATH THE CURRENT PARKING GARAGE. IN TERMS OF FORM IS WATER, A CONCRETE BOX SYSTEM WILL SIT UNDERNEATH THE PARKING GARAGE.

THERE'S A SIMILAR SYSTEM JUST EAST OF THE GARAGE ON THE SURFACE PARKING IN THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE SITE. IT'S UNDERNEATH THE CURRENT PARKING LOT. SO WE'RE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE SYSTEM. IN TERMS OF MAINTENANCE, ONCE THERE'S ONE INCH OF SEDIMENT WITHIN THE CONCRETE STRUCTURES, THE HOSPITAL WILL CONTRACT A VENDOR TO VACUUM OUT THE SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE THERE'S ENOUGH CAPACITY, AND IT'S SERVICED AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR.
