IT SAYS THERE THE ADULTS ARE UNSHELTERED AND 217 OF THE CHILDREN ARE UNSHELTERED. IN THEIR CARS WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND WHAT GNAT. MEANWHILE, THE PANHANDLING IS S A BIG PROBLEM. IF YOU RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU'VE BEEN TO A HOMELESS CAMP. I HAVE ON THE EDGES OF FORT PIERCE AND THERE ARE MORE PILES OF CANS OF UNOPENED FOOD. THEY CAN'T EAT IT ALL. THEY GET MORE FOOD THROWN AT THEM. FORT PIERCE IS THE PLACE TO BE IF YOU SINCE WE HAVE SO MANY SERVICES HERE AS OPPOSED TO WHAT THEY PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS WITH IN PORT ST. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I THINK IT'S ESSENTIAL THAT WE HAVE SOME TYPE OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THAT PARTICULAR MUNICIPALITY. I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU THREE EXAMPLES OF WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT AND ONE OF THEM GOES BACK A FEW YEARS AGO. EARLY LEARNING COALITION WAS A TENANT ON THE BACK OF MY PLAZA. 8,000 SQUARE FEET. THAT'S A BIG TENANT. COUPLE BOARD MEETINGS AND IT HAPPENED TWICE WHERE COUPLE OF LADY BOARD MEMBERS AND MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN IT GETS DARK EARLY AND THEY ARE GETTING OUT OF THEIR CAR, BOOM THAT PERSON IS RIGHT THERE IN THEIR FACE, PROBABLY PERFECTLY SAFE PANHANDLING THEM. FINALLY EARLY LEARNING COALITION SAID THAT'S IT, SORRY, WE'RE MOVING. THEY GO OUT TO ORANGE BLOSSOM MALL AND THEY PAY TWICE THE RENT. NOBODY PACE WHAT I CHARGE MY NONPROFITS. FIVE YEARS , THE LADY WAS CRYING IN MY OFFICE. IT WAS NOT HER FAULT THERE IS THE LARGEST PARK IN FORT PIERCE, MOST VISIBLE PARK IN FORT PIERCE THAT'S BEEN A HOMELESS PARK FOR 15 YEARS RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE POLICE STATION. I WISH THE CHIEF WAS HERE. I MOVED THEM OUT. THAT'S BEEN VACANT NOT TOO LONG AND WE'RE PUTTING A NICE PICTURE FRAME SHOP IN THERE. THERE WON'T BE ANY NEED FOR THEM TO COME THROUGH PLAZA. I HAD TO GET RID OF A VIABLE BUSINESS BECAUSE OF THAT SCENARIO. AGAIN AND THEN THE MOST RECENT IN THE LAST YEAR I'VE HIRED SECURITY. I HAD OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICERS. I'VE GONE FROM THEM AND I THINK I'M GOING TO GO BACK BECAUSE THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB. I HIRED A PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCY. I CAN'T AFFORD TOO MANY HOURS. THAT IS BASICALLY WHAT WE'VE BEEN FOR 20, 25 YEARS. NUMBER ONE CONSIDER THAT ST. AUGUSTINE PANHANDLING ORDINANCE. I THINK IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO AND I THINK THE POLICE OFFICERS TELL ME THAT'S WHAT THEY NEED. THEY NEED SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN ENFORCE. IF THE CHIEF WAS HERE, I WOULD ASK HER AND I'VE BEEN TOLD BY SOMEBODY WHO IS REALLY GOOD. HE PROBABLY TO ME HAS THE BEST [01:30:03] HOMELESS SERVICES BECAUSE HE DOESN'T BELIEVE IN GIVING A HANDOUT. AND MOVE THEM NORTH, MOVE THEM SOUTH TO PORT ST. LUCIE. MOVE THEM NORTH TO VERO BEACH. MOVE THEM OUT. HE SAID WE'LL TAKE CARE OF THEM WHEREVER THEY GO. AND BY THE WAY THEY ARE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
