AS OF THIS MORNING THE PERMIT HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED. HOWEVER, STAFF DOES RECOMMEND THAT WE STOP THE FINES FROM OCCURRING FOR A PERIOD OF 60 DAYS TO ALLOW THE PROPERTY OWNER THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH THE CONTRACTOR TO OF OBTAIN THE PERMIT.

THE SITUATIONS ARE VERY SIMILAR. SO STAFF AGAIN REQUEST THAT WE STOP THE FINES FOR 60 DAYS TO ALLOW THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH A NEW CONTRACTOR.

AND UNFORTUNATELY, IN JUNE 2019, THE SECOND CONTRACTOR BEGAN DOING WORK AGAIN WITHOUT PROPER PERMITS. SO A SECOND STOP WORK ORDER WAS ISSUED. SO IN THIS MATTER CAME BEFORE YOU IN IN OCTOBER 2013, STAFF WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THERE WAS 1/3 CONTRACTOR, WHICH THERE WAS, THAT HAD APPLIED FOR THE PERMITS. HOWEVER, THEY WERE KIND OF CEASED. THERE WAS NO OTHER ACTIVITY DONE BY THE CONTRACTOR. DURING THE SAME TIME, THERE WAS A SEPARATE CODE ENFORCEMENT CASE -- OFFICER DAWSON, WHO HAD CONTACTED THE PROPERTY OWNER AND THEY SPOKE REGARDING THE VIOLATION CASE.

AND OF COURSE THE PROPERTY OWNER MISUNDERSTOOD THINKING THAT MR. DAWSON GAVE AN EXTENSION THAT WAS IN REGARD TO THIS CASE AS WELL. SO THERE'S A LITTLE BIT OF MISUNDERSTANDING THERE AND DUE TO THAT, STAFF IS AGREEABLE TO STOPPING THE FINES FOR A PERIOD OF 60 DAYS -- I'M SORRY -- 90 DAYS TO ALLOW THE OWNER WHO IS WORKING WITH A NEW CONTRACTOR, A FORCE CONTRACTOR, TO TRY TO BRING THIS PROPERTY IN COMPLIANCE.

HOWEVER, THE PREVIOUS PERMITS THAT WERE ISSUED HAD EXPIRED AND WERE NOT RENEWED.
